Today, Govardhan Eco Village celebrated the Gopashtami Festival with great fervor and devotion. This festival commemorates Lord Krishna's affection for the cows and the first time taking calves and cows for grazing. This festival promotes cow protection and service.

Hundreds of cow lovers from Mumbai, 50 international yoga students, and all the resident devotees of the Govardhan Eco Village community came together to participate in the festivities.

The cows were worshipped with incense, flowers, and clothes. They were offered jaggery, sweets, and a special feast. Participants heard enlivening cow stories, rendered seva at the Goshala, and learned about the varieties of cow products.

Cow protection is about making the cows happy. Someone may ask that if we are protecting 100 cows, there are still tens and millions slaughtered all over the world. What are we really doing? But we are doing something very tremendous. We're living by our ideals; we're doing our part, and we're living in harmony with Krishna’s wish. And beyond that, it is an example. If we can show people that we really care, people are going to take our message very seriously.
