Prabhupada’s Palace of Gold Named One of 40 Most Beautiful Places in US
By Thomas Haribol - 14.9 2023
Insider Travel, with over 8 million followers on Facebook, published their 2023 roundup of the 40 most beautiful places to visit in the US, and Prabhupada’s Palace of Gold is on this prestigious list. Their recommendations are selected, in part, from a wide variety of travel sites and visitor reviews of must-see locations that span the US coast to coast.
Most of the 40 places recommended are natural sites like the California Redwoods, the Kenai Fjords of Alaska, or Acadia National Park in Maine. A rare few are man-made attractions like the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina, Central Park in New York City, and Prabhupada’s Palace of Gold in Moundsville, West Virginia.
The Palace welcomes over 35,000 visitors a year, making it one of the most visited attractions in West Virginia, and it stands as the centerpiece of ISKCON’s New Vrindaban community. It is regarded as Prabhupada’s preeminent smriti samadhi, or memorial shrine, in the West and is undergoing a multi-million dollar, multi-year restoration while remaining open to welcome thousands of tourists and devotees.
September 16th, 2023, the Palace will be hosting their popular Festival of Colors. To learn more about this family-friendly event, visit www.festivalofcolors.us.
