Vedic Planetarium under construction at Varsana Eco Yoga Village in Granada, Colombia, a few hours from the capital city of Bogota

The Vedic planetarium is officially opening in Colombia during Sri Krishna Janmastami 2019. This project has been in progress for the past twenty years, and it is finally coming to conclusion. In the past, the project was temporarily postponed due to local violence. However, in time violence dissipated and the Vaishnava community continued to pursue the offering of a Vedic Planetarium to Srila Prabhupada, as he had originally designed for Sri Mayapur Dham.

In reality, this is the second Vedic planetarium offering to Srila Prabhupada. The first offering was inaugurated in Peru fifteen years ago on the beach of Eco Truly Park, Sri Sri Gouranga Radha Damodar Mandir. This incredible project has become a renowned destination for devotees and tourists all over Latin America. Today, the second Vedic Planetarium is coming into existence by the efforts of the Vrinda Mission in Bogotá, Colombia, with the help of Vrinda devotees from all over the world. The opening will be blessed by Srila Gopananda Bon Maharaj, president of the Vishva Vaishnava Raj Sabha, vice president Bhakti Vichar Vishnu Maharaj, Srila Bhakti Nandan Swami, president of Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math, His Grace Rasabihari Prabhu, the director of Gokul and Indian Secretary of Vishva Vaishnava Raj Sabha and  many representatives from South America such as Srila Bhaktivedanta Atulananda Swami, one of the spiritual masters of the Vrinda Mission.
The Vedic Planetarium was a proposal by Srila Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. He had specially requested that this Vedic Planetarium be constructed under the guidance of Srila Bhakti Raksak Sridhar Maharaj, his beloved and close friend with whom he had personally worked for years in his own apartment and whose perfect judgement he fully trusted. He wanted the Vedic Planetarium to be constructed according to the indications provided in the Brihad Bhagavatamrita by Sanatan Goswami, which describe the journey of Gopa Kumar to the spiritual world, traversing numerous regions and levels of consciousness encountered in this existence before reaching the highest destination of Goloka Vrindavan. The Vrinda Mission devotees strictly followed the indications given by Srila Sridhar Maharaj, thus creating the first Vedic planetarium in Peru. The second Vedic planetarium in Colombia is carved in stone, unique for the Colombian Yatra as the very first stone construction. Vrinda devotees and artists are completely dedicated to establishing such a wonderful construction that will be remembered in Colombia as a divine art exhibit.
