People had the freedom to have a personal relationship with Christ as the Holy Spirit would lead. The ones that wanted to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ were just that, Disciples. In the begining, Christianity was not controled by any government and there was no need to make it into a religious organization or institution. This documentary shows when all that control begun.
To them that believe in Him, the Holy Spirit is given for guidance and discernment of truth. Jesus is the word of God. Revelation 19:11-13. Once you realize who "Our Church Fathers" are, you will know that we must take Jesus words seriously and rely on His Holy Spirit for all truth and understanding.
